File & Disk Requirements

Graphic Ventures prices are based on receiving MacIntosh Quark Files. Any jobs built in Pagemaker, Illustrator Freehand, and Photoshop will be upcharged at the current rate on the proposal. Graphic Ventures Inc. uses Inposition, an extension in Quark for outputting to all printers,
SpinJet, Epson Stylus
Pro 7600, Direct to Plate.

Our standard prices are based on receiving the following:

ONE COMPLETE QUARK DOCUMENT
|
Pages 1-end (Quark 4)
Create your document the exact size of the finished piece.
Live type should be at least 3/16" from edge 1/8" bleed around the outside of document.
Do not use any applications Hairline selection.
Specify hair rules as .25 pt. or larger.
Standard sizes are:
Digest 5.375 x 8.375 ~ Full 8.375 x 10.875. ~ 8.5 x 11 can only be used if there is no bleed. |

PRINTED HARD COPY
|
A printed hard copy should accompany disk for verification.
Please include all Fonts and supporting art. We recommend that you
flight check your disk before sending it out. |

FONTS
|
All Fonts including printer fonts should be sent.
For best results Please use Postscript type 1 fonts (Adobe Bitstream). True type and
MM fonts may not print all characters to the Rips. Do not use Apple system Fonts.
Use the actual stylized typeface, avoiding the use of STYLE attribute such as bold,
Italic, outline, and shadow. |

SUPPORTING ART (all files placed in Quark)
|
Photoshop – 4 color should be
EPS, B&W Tiff.
No RGB, or Indexed Color.
IMPORTANT!! Dpi should be double the line screen (150 line – 300 Dpi.).
Art files should include at least 1/8-inch bleed. |

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
|
Is job to have spot color or varnish?
Jobs built in Pagemaker
4 color art needs to be EPS file format.
(4 color tiffs will come out as Black & White).
B & W can be tiff.
Jobs built on PC Platforms
PC Quark and Pagemaker will convert to McIntosh with the worst problem being the fonts.
The more unusual the fonts used the more problems.
